‘Unlocked’ brings together photographs by young people created during an extraordinary time in the 21st Century.
In the face of sudden change and extreme challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the work presents a moving narrative from the heart of 9-17 year olds.
As school closures and lockdown forced a retreat to life behind closed doors, new ways of connecting came to the fore. Original photographs and writing unlocked hopes, fears and dreams, for themselves and the world.
The young photographers discover new ways to engage and exchange with the world around them starting from where they are. Looking through windows from home and while walking through local streets, images nuanced by time locked in.
